Day 30: Most Nostalgic Element Of Pokémon — Pokémon Theme

I had a few candidates in mind for this one, including the Ash/Misty/Brock trio — still the best group by far, though the Best Wishes team ain’t too bad, I must say.

Anyway, I ended up going with the classic Pokémon Theme, because music tends to make me feel really nostalgic. (Scents and smells do that to me, too, but that’s another story.)

Is there anyone out there who can honestly say that they don’t feel nostalgic when they listen to this song?

Day 29: Favourite Pokémon Tune Or Song — Born To Be A Winner

This has been my favourite Pokémon opening ever since I first heard it. I’d like to note that I prefer the TV version of ‘Born To Be A Winner’ over the full/movie version, just because I love that techno-like “Pokémon, Pokémon, Pokémon” at the start.

My second favourite is probably ‘We Will Be Heroes’ (the opening for Diamond & Pearl: Battle Dimension). I just love the opening beat and the singer’s voice, especially where it’s all low and sultry at the start.

I also love the Master Quest opening, and then the Johto Journeys opening, as well as all four openings in the Advanced Generation series (‘I Want To Be A Hero’ and ‘Unbeatable’ especially). Oh, and I could go on and on about all the songs I love off of the album Pokémon 2.B.A. Master (i.e. just about every track except ‘Pokémon (Dance Mix)’).

Oh, I almost forgot! ‘Brother My Brother’ from Pokémon - The First Movie! That one definitely deserves an honourable mention — such a beautiful song, with such beautiful lyrics, and I’m pretty sure it’s made me cry whilst watching the movie.

Gee, I could write a whole essay on my love for Pokémon music, but for your sake, I shall cut it short and stop here.

I first heard this song on the episode of The Simpsons, ‘The Haw-Hawed Couple,’ many years ago. Only a few days ago did I actually learn what the song is called: ‘He’s A Rebel’ by The Crystals.
